#2 - It is all that damn phone.

#2 - It is all that damn phone.
*(Spoiler: it's not really the phone.)*

Blame the phone. Everyone does.

It buzzes, you look. It glows, you grab it. By the time you've "decided" anything, your thumb's already three scrolls deep and you've forgotten why you picked it up. Convenient, really — nobody has to admit they wanted this.

Here's the twist: the phone isn't hooking you. The *maybe* is.

Maybe someone replied. Maybe something happened. Maybe this scroll — this one — finally feels like enough.

It never does. That's the whole trick: an almost that never becomes an actually, forever.

So you keep almost-arriving. One more scroll. One more check. One more "five minutes" that eats an hour like it owed you money.

The phone isn't the villain. It's just really good at its job — filling the gaps you'd rather not feel. The boredom. The loneliness. The 11pm what-am-I-doing-with-my-life spiral. It hands you a distraction before the feeling finishes introducing itself.

So the fix was never "delete the apps." It's catching the itch before you scratch it — that half-second flicker of bored, lonely, restless, right before your hand moves on its own. Catch it. Sit in it ten extra breaths. That's the whole move. No detox required.

The damn phone will still be there when you're done. It's not going anywhere.

The real question is what you're reaching past it for.
